Iro Nikolou 
Dipl. Architect Engineer, born in Athens, Greece, 1988
 
Education
Iro Nikolou studied architecture at the National Technical University of Athens, where awarded the title of Diploma degree of Architect Engineer, equivalent to a Master's degree (2011). Afterwards she acquired a Master of Science in Urban Strategies, from the University of Applied Arts Vienna (2014). Basic fields of her studies are Architectural Design, Urban and Regional Planning, Building Technology-Structural Design and Computer-aided Architectural Design. Among others she has studies in classical music.
 
Exhibitions/ Publications
Samples of her work  have been exhibited in Prague (Cinema Světozor | Experimental Architecture Biennial Volume#1 - 2013), where she was one of the speakers, in Vienna (Künstlerhaus | The Essence 13, 14 - 2013, 2014) and in Thessaloniki (Museum of Byzantine Culture | Imagine the City - 2014). To her publications there are included a student research project titled From Prometheus to dystopia, in the light of Metropolis” (2010), as well as her diploma project titled “Educational and psychotherapeutic center for children with autism“ (2011), both kept at the library of NTUA.
 
Work experience
Since 2011 she has been working as a freelancer architect and a graphic designer. After an internship in an architectural office in Athens (2011) and during her postgraduate studies, she collaborated with  the architectural office Chalabi Architekten & Partner ZT GmbH in Vienna (2013) and ERGONBAU GmbH & Co. OHG in Berlin - Department in Athens (2014 - 2015). She has participated in several architectural competitions  and commercial projects.
